Krystal Back in the Laser for London 2012

At the end of 2008, I announced at Sandringham Yacht Clubs “Meet the Olympians” function that I would be campaigning towards Gold in London 2012 in the Laser Radial. I have decided that it is time to jump back into the boat and begin campaigning.   Over the past year, I have taken time out to continue my studying at Sydney University Physiotherapy and also spent the summer learning how to race the RSX Olympic Windsurfer. My goal has always been to be an all round sailor and learning how to windsurf has helped form a different dynamic to my sailing. Queensland Laser Camp

Over the past week I have been training up in Queensland at a joint Yachting Queensland and Yachting Australia Camp run by Fletch and Adrian with help from Ken Hurling. It was a great camp with onwater training, rig measuring and lectures on tactics and techniques. Full rig boys jumped back into the Radial to give all the Girls and Youth Boys come tough competition. Brisbane really provided the winds with 15-18knots everyday. The winds and chop of Morton Bay really has prepared me well for my first event in Europe, Holland Regatta at the end of May....
