Krystal finishes first at Pre-Spring Regatta at Double Bay Sailing Club on Sydney Harbour.
It is great to be home! I have been back in Australia for a week and I just couldn’t help myself. Double Bay Sailing Club was having there annual sprint regatta over two days 21-22nd August. It is a great little club tucked inside the harbour right near the Sydney Harbour Bridge. As Sydney Harbour is well populated, all the building provided a great funneling effect for the breeze. It is certainly a tricky venue with shifts from all directions.

Day One was 20+ knots with gusts to 30knots, quite a few people went for a couple of swims and I have to say I was close at times.  I finished the day with a 1,2,1,2. It was great to also see members of Middle Harbour Armatures coming across to race as well!

Day Two was a lot calmer. The first race was sailed in a dieing westerly gradient breeze which eventually shutdown to allow the new sea breeze to come in. The day never jumped over 5-6knots. I finished with a 3, 1,1 overall.

Thank you to Double Bay Sailing Club for hosting the event, and all the competitors for making it so much fun! Also Nelson Bay Laser Sales for sponsoring the event.
