Over the weekend the “Breakwater to Beacon” race was on, down at the beach at Sandringham. The event was really well run by Windsurfing Victoria and Sailboard Head Quarter SHQ. On the sunday of the race it was my birthday and I couldn’t have thought of a better way to spend it then on the water.
I had a bit of a tough start to the race, with a slow beach start on the Formula board. Once I finally got up and planning and narrowly skipping over the reef with my massive fin..i was off and running. I finished around mid fleet which i was happy with.
A big surprise of the day was that i won the lucky door prize! Which was a new short board sail..i couldn’t have been more excited! Thank you to SHQ for all there work and support with the event.
