Over the past month I have been training hard in Sydney and Melbourne with my training partner Jeremy O’Connel and coaches Laura Baldwin and Michael Blackburn. We have been utilising the National Training Centre at Middle Harbour Yacht Club. It has been a great couple of weeks squeezing in training and two regattas. The Victorian State Titles were run from Somers Yacht Club on Western Port Bay VIC. and the NSW State Titles were run from Gosford Sailing Club, NSW. Congrats to Jeremy who took out the VIC State Titles.
Both these events were tricky ones for me as I found it hard to find my form after a month off sailing Lasers in January.
I have recently returned from Western Australian were I competed in the WA Laser State Titles. The competition in WA was tough with three good boys to look out for in the future Ben Walkemeyer, Mark Spearman (ISAF Youth rep) and Tristan Brown. The regatta was run on the river in 5-8knots, it was shifty and tricky. The race committee managed to get in 9 scheduled races.
I was happy to finally find my form at this regatta just in time before I head across to Europe.
