Europeans & Holland Wrap Up

It has been a busy couple of months traveling around Europe.  Firstly Holland Regatta where I finished 12th and Europeans Croatia where I was delivered two yellow flags to drop me right down the ranks of Gold Fleet.

I decided to come over to Europe earlier then originally planned to help  give me an indicator of where to focus my training. It has been a great adventure to find out my strengths and weakness’s.

I had a great block of training with my new coach Jared West and the Australian Sailing Squad. It has been great being back on the circuit and apart of a team again.

Croatia for me was the biggest learning curve. Where my lack of time on water was evident. The level of competition has slowly evolved and new techniques for downwind sailing have improved. There have been many things taken from this event. Including smoothing out my downwind sailing and lessons learnt about skulling (illegal movement of helm) which is why I was given my yellow flags.

I am now off to travel around Croatia, Austria and then the Cze Republic for some fitness before heading down to Barcelona for some Hobie16 Racing.

I want to thank my ongoing supporters. Veolia, Zhik, Australian Sailing, Tudor InsuranceAlfred Health and Sandringham Yacht Club.

Its time for me to head out and get those hours on the water.
