Injury Prevention by VIS Physiotherapist Warrick Pearson

Here is a great article by Warrick Pearson our Sailing Team VIS physiotherapist. He talks about current research, adolescent transition, being careful with winter preparation in the gym & monitoring your training loads.

Warrick expresses the importance of an individualised physiotherapy screen to give you guidance to avoid injury. Warrick is the owner of MyPhysio at GESAC in Bentleigh East which is the same practice I work out of.

Together we wish to help sailors spend more time on the water injury free!

“General rule of thumb that comes out of all the injury prevention literature is not to progress training loads more than 10% per week” – Warrick Pearson, 2015
