Sail Sydney 2010 Krystal finishes 3rd overall

In the Laser Radial class Krystal Weir started the day in fourth position, six points behind Claire Blom of the Netherlands. Weir had the better day of the two with a seventh and a fourth to take the Bronze medal.

“I’m really happy with the regatta’s result, it was a good comeback from being in 10th overall,” said Weir. “At the start of the week I was trying some new things, some were working and some weren’t but it all came together in the end.”

“Results weren’t really the focus for this regatta, it was about working on my technique and then today it was about doing what I know is right,” she said. “I haven’t raced properly in a while and this week was a great warm up for Sail Melbourne, we’ve pretty much got the same fleet next week so it’s been good to get to know the competition.”
