Krystal Weir back to full time competition post Anterior Labral Tear repair

Krystal Weir is a two time Olympic Sailor in the Laser (2008 & 2012) and World Champion. During her campaign she suffered right chronic hip pain that slowly progressed due to increased loading and poor stability. Trish Wisbey-Roth formulated a plan for Krystal to follow in 2013 to get her back in the boat. In 2012; the Australian Sailing Team Physiotherapist Donna White and her team of Lucy Tighe and Fiona Miller helped to maintain Krystal's body throughout her campaign to London 2012. Once she finished her sailing Physiotherapist Wendy Braybon suggested that Krystal speak with Trish Wisby-Roth and begin her rehab to extend Krystal's carrier in Sailing and general quality of life. Overall the regatta was predominately light winds and tricky conditions. Andy & I finished 12th overall and second best placed Aussie with Dan & Nath in 4th. Congratulations to the French team of Emmanuel & Eric for winning the regatta. I want to thank Mark Stichbury-Cooper from Viper New Zealand for helping make it all happen. ...

Europeans & Holland Wrap Up

It has been a busy couple of months traveling around Europe.  Firstly Holland Regatta where I finished 12th and Europeans Croatia where I was delivered two yellow flags to drop me right down the ranks of Gold Fleet.  I decided to come over to Europe earlier then originally planned to help  give me an indicator of where to focus my training. It has been a great adventure to find out my strengths and weakness's. I had a great block of training with my new coach Jared West and the Australian Sailing Squad. It has been great being back on the circuit and apart of a team again. Croatia for me was the biggest learning curve. Where my lack of time on water was evident. The level of competition has...

Australian Laser Womens National Champion 2013/14

Krystal Wins Australian Laser Radial Womens National Title 2013/14  in McCrae, Melbourne It was a tough event with predominately windy and shifty conditions. There were 95 boats competing over the course of the week. The VLA & McCrae Sailing Club did a great job throughout the week to run a smooth regatta. The Wilson brothers & Peter Merritt provided the race management team and a top jury team were selected for the event. Congrats to Matthew Wearn Full Rig overall winner, Tristan Brown overall Radial Winner. Special mention to my old training partner who has moved into the full rig Jeremy O'Connell who came second overall in the Full rigs. Good Work Jez!
