Amaroo Cruise

Make sure you head down to Amaroo cruise down at Forster! It was a great day of fun on the Whale watching boat. We set out at 10am leaving from a dock in the town centre. We then enjoyed a slow cruise through the oyster beds, past dolphins & set off out to sea to see some amazing whales. It was a great day and I highly recommend a visit when you are in the great lakes area....

WildCat Regatta was a fantastic event; great weather, great wind and great fun!             Over the long weekend down at Forster Great Lakes Sailing Club I competed in the Hobie 16 Cat in preparation for the worlds that are coming up in February. Sailing up North!

Krystal is up in Norther NSW jumping onboard different catamarans, learning the ropes.  Over the past three month I have been posted for work up in Kempsey NSW for three months with my physiotherapy job. In the mean time I have meet some amazing people who have introduced me to many different types of cat sailing. Over at the Great Lakes Sailing Club in Foster, John White and his sons Caleb & Ethan have been introducing me to the Hobie 16. It is a great club hidden in amongst palm trees in the middle of the bush. Summer Time

It has been a new and exciting couple of months for me. I have been switching and jumping around classes to explore what is new on the circuit. I jumped back into the Laser to do Sail Melbourne at my home club at Sandringham Y.C. It was a mixed condition event with every tricky direction including the a massive westerly of 25knots with monster waves. I finished up with a solid lead of 22points to Singapore and Sui. After Sail Sydney I took part in the FX 49er camp with Yachting Australia. The boat is fantastic and exciting to sail, requires a lot of balance and boat handling. In January I sailed the Viper 16foot catamaran with Brett Goodall. We finished a creditable 7th place and was leading...

The Australian "Sailor takes rocky road to golden waters"

THE biggest improvements you make are when you are forced outside your comfort zone. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/london-games/sailor-takes-rocky-road-to-golden-waters/story-fne3b3ke-1226419420285 That is the mantra that has driven Laser Radial sailor Krystal Weir for most of her journey to a second Olympic Games. It is a journey that, courtesy of her first coach Lex Bertrand, has sometimes been intentionally rocky and occasionally even gone backwards. "He was always about pushing the limits and doing things out of the box," Weir, 27, told The Weekend Australian. "We used to do a lot of crazy things. "The good thing about Port Phillip Bay is that it's quite big and you can tow out to the middle of the bay and no one can really see what you're doing. "Lex used to put a rope around my mast and tow...
